Intuit Australia plans to deliver major time savings to online retailers nationwide via a seamless integration between its QuickBooks Online cloud accounting software and leading Australian-born ecommerce platform Bigcommerce.
The initiative will allow accounting data to flow and be updated automatically for online merchants, empowering them to spend less time balancing the books and more time focused on business growth.
Managing Director of Intuit Australia, Nicolette Maury, said although the Australian launch date is yet to be confirmed, the integration is a great example of how Intuit has turned QuickBooks Online into the world’s leading small business cloud platform, offering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of the broad range of small businesses.
“This integration will give back precious time to busy retailers by facilitating the automatic transfer of transactions from their web store to their QuickBooks Online account. It streamlines the bookkeeping process and provides a new level of business efficiency for online businesses,” she said.
Highlights of the integration include:
• Seamless Data Updates: The integration will eliminate the need for manual reconciliation of sales deposits, bank fees and sales tax. All ecommerce transactions, including sales and refunds, flow into QuickBooks Online with no extra work required.
• Improved Sales Transaction Accuracy: As sales data is automatically aggregated into QuickBooks Online, business owners will have a more accurate picture of their finances and any data entry errors will be eliminated.
• Better Business Performance Insights: The integration means QuickBooks Online has an always up-to-date view of business performance, and business owners can generate key reports, such as profit and loss, cash flow and their balance sheet at the click of a button.
Through the partnership, Bigcommerce has been selected as a preferred e-commerce provider for existing and new Intuit customers.
“Australians spent a massive $16.6 billion online in 2014, an increase of nine per cent on the previous year*, so we know online retail is a thriving sector and spans businesses of all sizes. We’re delighted to be joining forces with Bigcommerce and believe this integration will help online businesses thrive by making the accounting process seamless and invisible,” said Maury.
Melanie Kalemba, Senior Vice President of Sales and Strategic Business Development at Bigcommerce, said the integration is a result of a shared vision and will bring best-in-class expertise to its merchants.
“Bigcommerce is focused on bringing ecommerce to every retail business owner. The retail industry functions online, in physical stores and everywhere in between, so together with Intuit, we’re working to connect those channels to make business more efficient.”
Bigcommerce retailers in the U.S. will be the first to integrate QuickBooks Online, with support for merchants in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom to come. Retailers can find more information by visiting bigcommerce.com/quickbooks.
